This is a small flower (mounted approximately 25 X 25cm) using fabric scraps and hand stitching. The green background was created first using strips of fabric. For the actual flower I have used only a few stitches – mostly straight stitch, some blanket stitch and french knots. I used some beads and tapestry wool for the middle of the flower to portray the different chunky quality compared to the thin and flimsy petals.
