At the workshop we were given an introduction til Hockney and his way of working. In the studio there were photocopies of – not Grand Canyon – but one of Denmark’s attractions Moens Klint. We cut these up and stuck them together, in a differnet way, to make a photo montage to work from. Drawing a grid as Hockney did – which was a different way of working for me. We then drew from the montage using charcoal on an A3 sheet of paper and then an elongated piece og watercolour paper.
Below is my photomontage and drawings and some of the work by the other participants, on display.
