At the Fashion and Stitch show at the NEC in Birmingham this weekend – I was lucky to speak with the legendary author and embroiderer Richard Box.. His beautiful pieces are made up of fabric scraps, and FME and hand embroidery. He had made a series of pieces showing how he builds up his pictures step by step. These were fascinating. Note the “please do touch”labels – which is quite the opposite to what we are used to see, but his lovely pictures ARE very tactile.
