Drawing white on to white needs some consideration. These tulips were a gift and waiting to be drawn. But to show the white it is necessary to darken the background.
The first sketch was given a wash of diuted ink. The second drawing I wasn’t at all happy with so I cut it out, painted a new background, with Derwent Inktense blocks and collaged the leaves.
