Yesterday I spent a whole day at a workshop with a local artist – Kirsten Lundbergh.
Kirsten is an experienced teacher and very generous with her knowledge, and uses only environmentally safe products
We worked/played with at least three different techniques to transfer pictures from paper to fabric. I now have a small pile of fabric and notes on how, what and why. It is very much a question of patience, and practise makes perfect. Not all my pieces are finsished as yet. It takes time to painstakingly remove all the bits of paper from the transferred picture.
We also printed from photocopies on to fabric and had great fun using metal foils. I am not a bling person, but I can see a use for some of the shiny stuff in some of my work once in a while.
