Stitching birds

I am getting the next “flock ” of birds ready for the markets this autumn. I really enjoy flicking through my collection of cards and then trying to match the backgrounds to some fabric. The stitchery is the final way to integrate the cards with the fabric.

The materiale needs to be quite a lot bigger than the finished piece of 10X10cm, to cover the sides of the canvas and to make a neat finish on the reverse side. I always use a cardboard frame to check how the finished piece will look.
