I love my Bernina sewing machine and look after it. I change the needle on a regular basis and clean it for fluff and thread, when I have used it, always making sure that it doesn’t need oil. I also only buy good thread from good makers. I use loads of different colours and types of thread from shiny rayon to a lovely matt wool. BUT one thing I never would do, is to buy cheap thread. Cheap thread can be waxed to make it look good, but it is easy to imagine where this wax can end up in your sewing machine if you use it.
